We had a late start this morning, working on controlling the gear chaos and stepping up the systems! We took off from Chief Lake (10579 ft) and headed over Goodale pass (10538 ft). We dropped further down at McGee pass (9525 ft) making our way on a Z trail. We arrived at Lake Virginia (6350 ft) and my jaw dropped in awe! We quickly made our way to the lakes edge and got in the water. Could have stayed all day, but not in the plan. Loaded up on water, cleaned up and took off for camp. We set up camp just past Duck Lake. Camp sites are situated along the river, pleasant sound of rushing water was our dinner music. Of note, found it challenging to dig the "cat hole" in the rocky terrain! We had a restful night after a tasty dinner of Mac & Cheese with mash potatoes....gotta eat!
love the updates. I hope Bill is behaving. Aloha Peter
