Day 4 on the PCT
Late entry due to lack of Internet service! We departed Mammoth lakes via a bus ride to the Agnew Meadow trailhead, 8387 ft. Our packs feel heavy, a day of rest will do that. We made our way up to 1000 Island Lake, a steady uphill grind where we set up camp. We were at 10,000 ft and shared the beauty with at least +1000 mosquitoes. Bill used DEET and I slipped on my net hat. Bill set up the tent as I readied our dinner menu. After a quick rinse in the lake we were refreshed and eager for a hot meal. We rolled into our bags early and drifted off to sleep to the distant howls of coyotes.
